On behalf of the Board, I would like to welcome you to Lisbon. This conference is the 20th of our Society, and in 2026 we will also celebrate 20 years since the foundation of our community.
On this occasion, we wish to express our gratitude to the founding members, as well as to all of you who are participating in this event.
Our conferences have historically been a time for learning, exchanging experiences, and building relationships. Your participation and contribution to their organization are therefore essential.
The Scientific and Organizing Committees of this conference are working tirelessly to ensure that we can all listen to and share new developments presented by leading experts in our field. We also hope that many of you will propose your own work, enabling us to plan a rich and stimulating programme.
The conference theme, “From Fragmentation to Integration: New Perspectives on Identity and Resilience”, should serve as an incentive for us to reflect on the progress achieved over these 20 years of clinical experience and research. Above all, it should inspire us to think ahead and define future goals in our field, which remain numerous and challenging due to their complexity.
We invite you to take advantage of the breaks to meet colleagues from other countries, exchange ideas and experiences, and explore opportunities for collaboration on projects that may arise in this context.
We hope this conference will worthily celebrate twenty years of ESTD and guide us all towards the future development of our society.
Best wishes,
Maria Paola Boldrini, ESTD President
